I pretty much always use ISO 100 when the noise is not an issue at all. [link] had been taken with ISO 800 and [link] with ISO 1600. Even in those 40D performs well. Of course there is noise at high ISO values but that's the case with all crop cameras.

I can definitely recommend 40D. Love that camera. It's quite cheap at the moment and performs really well. From competition Nikon D300 is a bit better when it comes to picture quality but it costs much more. I've used D300, Olympus E3 and Sony A700 from the same price range and personally prefer 40D over those.

Bear in mind though that the lens has a huge part in this all too. Good camera alone doesn't do you much good

Fantastic photographs i am interested in buying a cannon 40d i have a few questions about are you able to get no noise and very good pixils on landscapes? can you capture all the branches on a bush or tree in good sharpness? be cool if u could link me any of youre shots in youre gallery to answer these thanks
